Superb tour! Fransesco our expert guide took us on a 3 hour drive around some of Rome's must see sights and also some lesser known sites too. The car was great fun to drive, a little challenging at first but you soon get used to the 1960's technology. The drive around the narrow streets of Rome was brilliant and the tour extremely memorable overall. I highly recommend doing this if you are a confident driver and want to do something slightly different. November 2025

This tour has been a dream of ours since we saw it on an episode of Travel Man. We walked from our hotel to where we met our guide. We had our International driving permits, and got tips on the Fiats. You have to be proficient at driving a standard to be able to drive these cars. The guide leads you on a route and makes stops at sites along the way. The guide has two way radios in each car which helps keep things on track. We drove around the colosseum and on narrow side streets. It was three hours of pure fun!

My husband and I recently spent the afternoon with Alex on the Fiat 500 7 Hidden Gems of Rome Tour - and what fun! My husband drove the 1960s-vintage Fiat 500 all over Rome; and even though it was a bit of a rainy day (heavy at times), we had an awesome time. We saw lots of fun sights, but the best was being able to drive through the tiny streets of the Trastevere. Alex was a great guide; he always made sure we were behind him, he didn't get us into any crazy traffic situations and he gave us a lot of fun information through a 2-way radio system; and he gave us some great recommendations of restaurants and a fantastic little pub with a great beer garden. A really unique way to see Rome - the best part of our trip!

A truly unique experience in Rome. You feel like a celebrity to tourists and a national hero to Italians. Our guide, Alex, was exceptional and had extensive knowledge of Italian and Roman history. We had the pleasure of taking a private 3-hour tour of Rome with Alex, and it was an exciting and truly exhilarating experience!
The Rome 500 Experience was unlike anything I’ve done before—cruising through the Eternal City in a vintage Fiat from the late '60s to early '70s was a unique thrill. Alex arrived right on time, greeted us warmly, and immediately made us feel at ease. We hopped into a vibrant hot pink Fiat that turned heads everywhere we went—it was like riding with a local celebrity! People stopped to take photos at nearly every stop, and for a moment, I felt like a celebrity myself.
Alex guided us through Rome’s charming Trastevere neighborhood and past several iconic landmarks. His commentary was informative and engaging, offering fascinating insights into the historical significance of each site. His friendly demeanor and welcoming presence made the tour even more enjoyable.
I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome who’s looking for a fun, condensed, and memorable way to explore the city. And if you can, ask for Alex—you won’t be disappointed! August 2025
We had an amazing time exploring Rome in a vintage Fiat 500! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and excited for the tour. The cars were beautifully maintained and drew smiles from everyone we passed – we truly felt like celebrities cruising through the city.
Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the experience super fun. They shared interesting stories about the landmarks we visited and kept the pace relaxed, allowing us to take in the sights. The route gave us a great mix of iconic highlights and hidden gems, and driving the little 500 through Rome's streets was a delight.

What a fabulous 3 hours. Having been to Rome twice before we wanted to go beyond the main touristy sites. Our little red fiat chauffered by our exceptional Alex was hugely better than expected. Alex knew the right spots, had a massive knowledge of the history of each, and knew how to take the best photos of us. He spent just the right time at each spot including the best ice cream shop in Rome. He’s special and the trip is special and above all loads of fun in a cute Fiat. July 2025
Beep! Beep! What fun we had on our follow the leader tour. Amazing opportunity to drive a 1960's Fiat 500. Drove around Rome past iconic landmarks and visited some more out of the way tourist spots. Down narrow alleys, under arches past the Colesseum with a group a lovely people. A unique experience and one of our favourite memories of our trip. Highly recommend. April 2025

The guide provided an informative tour of the city he knows and loves. Every stop provided an impromptu photo shoot of the car as all tourist liked. The driving tour with stops gave a view of the city in a way I never had in previous visits. It is money well spent.

In leading up to our trip to Rome what better way than to see the stunning ancient city than by stylish vintage Italian ways… Alex our incredible guide/driver gave us an Authentic, fun , funny English speaking view of the incredible city…. Alex was extremely informative, educational, non-rushed and most of all heaps of fun!!! The company is easy to deal with and we would HIGHLY recommend this for first time and lovers of ROME!!!!

We had Massimiliano as our guide and he was absolutely amazing surpassing every expectation. I’ve worked as a tour guide in the US and can say that Massimiliano really hit all the marks going above and beyond what you expect from a guide. He has that perfect balance of seriousness and humor with an amazing energy that makes any tour amazing. Throw in a ride in a vintage Fiat along with the beautiful history of the area and you get an unforgettable experience that beats any of the other private tours in Rome. Excellent tour! Wonderful guides, great sights, and awesome cars. Our guides were Max and Marcus - very knowledgeable and friendly! Good balance of information, sightseeing, and photo ops. Would definitely recommend, especially for anyone seeing Rome for the first time. We booked the evening tour as well, which was gorgeous!

The only way to see Rome

This was the higlight of our visit to Rome. We went with self-drive option and, after a quick tutorial of how to drive a 50 year old car through the streets of Rome, we were off.
Our guide was Alex and he was an excellent guide/historian/comedian and photographer!
We ventured up and down Rome's hills and then into the twisty narrow streets of Trastevere finishing up with a lap around the Colloseum all whilst getting smiles and waves from fellow tourists.
It's easy to get to the meet-up point by Metro, but give yourself plenty of time as the trains on line C aren't as regular as other lines.

My wife and booked the Fiat tour as part of our Silver Wedding anniversary trip to Rome and it was such great fun. Before we arrived Alvise made sure we had all the information we needed about the cars and tour, as well as recommending local eateries and microbrewery for us to visit! His son Alex was our tour guide. Really personable and very knowledgeable. Like his father, a top fella! The cars were great to drive and it was wonderful to get a different perspective on such an amazing city. When we return to Rome we’d definitely like to to another trip in the Fiats.

Driving around in Rome with a Fiat 500 together with the knowledgeable guide Alexis Leonardo is a fun and exciting way of exploring the interesting and slightly less famous parts of this marvellous city. You'll see and visit things you'll otherwise miss out on: the pyramide, the Caracalla baths, the San Sebastiano gate, and the noon salute, to metion some. Not to forget being in the midst of the caotic Roman traffic. You'll remember this trip more than anything else! Three hours will fly unexpectedly fast.

The tour was absolutely worth it. Our tour guide Francesco was funny, knowledgeable and patient driving through Rome. They were accommodating and very courteous. Our guide took wonderful photos and was informative of the places we got to visit. The tour was our favorite of our trip to Rome. We would recommend to anyone who loves vintage cars and history.

Don’t visit Rome without booking this trip!
My husband and I booked this trip and our tour guide was Alex. He was so friendly and knowledgeable, and it was a pleasure to be shown around Rome by him. Alex judged my hubbies driving skills and took us down appropriate roads that were super exciting, especially the Trastevere area. All in all an excellent trip and well worth the money would definitely do again.

Absolutely fantastic afternoon with Alex and the pink machine bringing out our inner Barbie . Tons of laughs despite the protests today. A few improvisations and a really fun afternoon. Wow! Today we had our tour and we simply loved it! Our 9-year old son was so thrilled he wanted to do it all over again! Incredible addition to our Roman Holiday!
Such an incredible experience and what an addition to a Roman Holiday! Manu was a fantastic tour guide and we got to see some attractions off the beaten track that we would have missed otherwise. The cars themselves are the best, they're a lot of fun to drive and they look great. I was nervous beforehand having seen how busy the roads in Rome are but I'm so glad I went for it anyway. Отличная экскурсия по вечернему/ночному Риму нам очень понравилась(мы катались в 7-10pm). Мы увидели Рим таким, каким не видно его днём! Окунулись в атмосферу того времени - 1960-70 года. I've done lots of city tours around the world in vans, buses, and in amphibious DUCKs. It's a great way to get a sense of a city. The Rome 500 Experience stands out as the most unique way to do this while having loads of fun along the way. Driving a vintage Fiat 500 around Rome gets lots of attention. People love this car! Rome 500 proprietor Alvise,is personable and obviously excited about sharing Rome's major sights and history during the tour. THIS IS A MUST-DO IN ROME!
Touring a world-class city at night is always an amazing experience. We've done this before in Paris, Washington DC, and New York, so we knew that doing this in Rome was a must. Monuments are illuminated and more dramatic, while streets are uncrowded. This turned out to be one of the highlights of our three-week trip to Italy. Rome 500 tour owner Alvise is enthusiastic as he shares Rome's sights and history he knows so well while you drive one of his vintage Fiat 500s around the historic city.
