Whizz around Rome on board a cute tiny FIAT 500, discover the less known  history of the Jewish community in Rome, indulge in a unique food tasting of the Roman-Jewish gastronomic tradition and enjoy the famous artichokes “alla Giudia” at the world reknown restaurant Nonna Betta

The tour is divided into 3 parts:
- 2 hours chauffered or self drive in convoy tour on board a cute tiny FIAT 500
- 1 hour walking tour accompanied by our local guide in the Jewish ghetto in English and Hebrew
- If you like, we can arrange for you a food tasting at the world famous Jewish - Roman restaurant Nonna Betta. Self paying.

This time our experienced guides will take you round some stunning sights and history that you wouldn't think of visiting as well as the main sights that you would, from the collosseum to tiny cobbled alleys, straight out of the Italian Job.

You will marvel at the ruins of the Emperor Caracalla’s public baths. You will experience the magic of the keyhole of the Knights of Malta and enjoy the panoramic view from the terrace of the Garden of the Oranges.

Soon after you will whizz around the cobblestones streets of Trastevere and you will get to the terrace of Janiculum hill. You will be struck by the sight of the Coliseum, the Pantheon, Villa Medici and the shape of the  mountains contouring Rome.

After a 2 hours tour on board the FIAT 500 tiny car, you will be dropped off at the Jewish ghetto where our local guide will tour you around the streets of the district where the Jewish Roman community has been residing for more than 2200 years.

Shamingly, the Popes from 1555 till 1870 forced the Roman Jewish community to live inside a limited area in terrible conditions.  In 1938 the racist laws of the fascist regime discriminated the Jewish Roman population. From 1943 till 1944 hundreds of Jewish Roman, mostly women and kids were deported by the nazi-fascists in lagers and assassinated.

The Jewish district has flourished in the past few years while keeping its original and traditional character as being part of one of the most ancient Rome’s identities.

At the end of the 1 hour walking tour, discover the most delicious well kept gastronomic secrets of the Jewish-Roman cuisine, truly unique in the world! Not just the usual Italian pizza and spaghetti!

Circus Maximus – the biggest stadium ever in the world, big as twice as the biggest football stadiums. 250,000 people would have cheered the chariot races, nowadays famous for the Ben Hur movie.

The Jewish Ghetto - The district and the tiny alleys where the Jewish-Roman community has been leaving for more than 2200 years. 

The Sinagogue - The biggest sinagogue in Europe built in 1901.

What you will do

- Self drive a FIAT 500 vintage car in a safe and quiet itinerary by following your tour leader’s car. Alternatively enjoy the 2 hours tour as passenger  in a chauffeured car.

- Peep through the keyhole of the square of the Knights of Malta and see 3 countries in a line.

- Drink from a public fountain  and discover the genial and funny way the locals drink

- Meet the ghost of a general of Julius Caesar greeting you from  the 4th  biggest ancient Pyramid in the world. 

- Toss a coin into the "Fontanone", the fountain on top of the  Janiculum hill,   which is considered as the local branch of the Trevi fountain and ensure a return to Rome

- Enjoy one of the most creamy cappuccinos in Rome in a coffee bar excavated in the belly of the hill that the ancient Romans created as a discharge area of the capital of the Roman Empire

- Walk in the tiny streets of the Jewish Ghetto and let our local guide tell you about the history of the oldest and most corageous Jewish community in Europe and its fascinating traditions.

What you will eat (optional)

The tour will stop at the Jewish Ghetto and you will savour the famous double fried artichokes "carciofi alla giudia" of  the world  famous "Nonna Betta" restaurant.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received before 72 hours from the day/hour of the tour will be refund net of bank charges. No refund for cancellations received less than 72 hours from the hour of the tour booked.

Important notice

The driver must be in possession and carry with her/him a valid European Union driving license or international driver's license. Drivers must be able to drive using a manual clutch, occasional driving experience with manual cars in not enough to handle our vintage cars; the Company reserves the right to refuse to let the car in case the driver is not sufficiently expert to drive a manual car and there will be no refund.


You can pay the whole tour fees straight away by Paypal or wire transfer. You can also use the ADVANCE CODE 50% which means that you pay the 50% at the booking and that you agree to pay the 50% balance at the tour departure. The ADVANCE CODE 50% is NOT a discount offer.
